On a personal note, all is well, and at a super busy rate too. School just keeps getting busier and busier and I find myself more and more involved on campus with my documentary club and Asian heritage month committee. My blogs have definitely been on MIA but only because I am in action everywhere else. Posts will be slow but I'll try to keep them steady. Hang in there octopie blog, I still love you.

I just love red and teals. It's just... so perfect.
It made my night to discover this delightful illustrator, Josh Cochran, whom I have probably seen his work one time or another from some source of media around Los Angeles. I also have to mention how adorable A Spoonful of Sugar print is. I'm a sucker for umbrellas too...

My favorite color combination; a duo that our Jim Houser is familiar with and used for his last solo show at Jonathan Levine. I'm grown heavily attached to his simplistic, clean pieces whether they be single subjects in hollow space, or a cluster of ideas intertwined into one thought. I have yet to experience one of his installations in person but until then, a collection of his work on my blog will do.

I actually just wanted to update with...

has anyone else noticed how the subject of my beloved octopus creature is so popular in the art world today? I use to be so excited to see something tentacle-ly in a gallery but I feel like I see it everywhere now. It's great yet overwhelming for me because I just don't know which to update first and unfortunately, it leads to no update at all.

I apologize. I will try to get back on my toes. Seriously.

My trip down to Gallery Nucleus for the Nature of Water (Bruce Lee inspired) show gave me the opportunity to meet the lovely Ver Mar! On top of that, she was wearing a sexy octopus pendant that she crafted herself. We share the same love <3

This is a painting called "Yummy Sea" by Miso. I love the use of glitter; it attracted the part of me that's drawn to shiny things.

My last visit at Copro Nason left me in utter happiness of discovering a crafty lady named Ver Mar.
Courtesy of Ver herself because my camera is crappy.

Her work is a coated with brilliance and sprinkled with darkness, just my taste. Hehe ^_^. I'm in complete lust with everything in her show "Menagerie". Complete.

Along side her room in the gallery was Mike Leavitt's "Art Army" where Audrey Kawasaki was found.

Isn't her adorable? Well done Mike.

All beautifully done by Brandi Milne for her "Sugar & Silence" show at Corey Helford. I alsolutely LOVED this show! Everytime I see her, the work just keeps getting better. The reception for her show even had baked goodies! Octopus and sweets? Could it have been better? No; I was one giddy little girl.
